daily health routine

Good morning to all and hope everyone is having a great week.

This morning I think about my health and how I've changed my food choices, and about others making better choices as well. I was recently telling a friend about the Alkaline plant based diet as a path to optimal health. It really is if you think about it. It contains natural foods that are not hybridized or re-created by man, therefore it contains the original nutrients needed for optimal health. The original cell structures of the plant. Seeded melons and fruits are more nutrient dense, the seeds give off minerals within the fruit, therefore increasing our health. So why are they making fruits seedless? (that's another topic) Incorporate herbs, which is even more important, to complete a good plan. Herbs provide us with even more nutrients and minerals that many 'vegans' can be  low on. I do have a few people that question my nutrient intake. But little do they know...

So I thought a good post for TODAY would be to give a few tips on what I do during the day to incorporate a healthy lifestyle.

For starters, when I wake up I drink a glass of water. I'll wait about 15 minutes and drink another glass of water with my herbs. I'm not super consistent everyday with herbs but I listen to my body. My go to herb is Seamoss. It has 92 minerals of the 105 we are made of. People have had nothing but good things to say about Seamoss. If you'd like to learn more about Seamoss you can follow AlkalineHerbShop on Instagram. It completes my energy ;). After I take herbs, I'll wait an hour and drink some more water during that time, so the herbs have time to digest and absorb.

Next I'll start my day with fruit. Fruit is the best thing to start with because this time a day, our body is detoxifying and we are waking up from a fast. (sleep for 8 hrs) Fruit contains oxygen, sugar, and minerals which will further help our body cleanse and prepare for the day. Fruit contains natural sugar so it is naturally energizing. Fruit sugar is not processed, it's not made for consumption, it's not re-created by man, its perfectly PH Balanced to match our needs. Many fruitarians and plant based eaters have reversed diabetes by choosing their new lifestyle. Choosing to eat food closely related to nature will provide us with optimal health. It's aligned with our internal structure and energy source.

After having a piece of fruit (this morning I had a peach ;) I'll then prepare my food for the day. I make a green smoothie and then I make a salad. Whatever else I eat during the day I'll prepare it as the day goes by. GREEN SMOOTHIE: For my green smoothie I use:
    1. Kale > lots of it. I fill the blender 3/4 full kale
    2. 1 apple
    3. 1 banana
    4. All berries (organic strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries)
    5. 4 dates (for sweetness)
    6. Peaches or pineapple frozen chunks
    7. Hemp powder (protein and fiber)
    8. Spirulina
    9. Cacao Powder
    10. Ground Flax seed
    11. Fill it up with water 3/4 and  BLEND IT ALL UP
    12. THEN I add a handful of walnuts ;)  AND BLEND ONCE AGAIN
This makes two protein shakers and 1 12oz Ball glass jar. My body craves this everyday. I use a Vitamix blender so it has some power and storage. This smoothie is an an antioxidant boost and further protects me from environmental stresses of the day.

Then I get started on my salad...

    1. Romaine and spring mix
    2. Chopped red onion
    3. Chopped bell pepper
    4. Chopped celery, or tomatio, or cucumber...
    5. Grape tomatoes
    6. Sprinkle with Chia seeds and hemp seeds, (pumpkin seeds for more protein ;)
    7. Top with spices. I use sea salt, garlic powder, basil, oregano, Dukka seasoning blend from Trader Joes, pepper
    8. An oil blend of EVOO, sesame, and toasted sesame.
    9. Add Garbanzo beans for a more filling meal and extra protein.
Lastly, Exercise or meditate. Get outside. Do something for you.  I always try to stretch or do something active first thing in the morning. Even just walking my dog and getting outside. It always makes me feel better about my day, and feeling confident for what's to come.

So I start my day with water, herbs, and fruit, and then prepare my food for the day before I get on with my day. It may seem like a lot to do in the morning, but you'll be thanking yourself later. When we work on making ourselves better we feel better. Hope this sparked some ideas for the health train.

Women are Unique

Sometimes as women we go through changes that we can't explain, and we wonder if anyone else is also having the same issue. As I was reading USA Weekend I found some very interesting information for all the ladies out there...... Including myself! Now I know why =) As I do and I'm sure others do as well; I'm looking at my cell phone as I'm laying in bed before falling asleep. Well not anymore! ..... As women we need to wind down because bright lights can suppress the sleep hormone- Melatonin- which makes us more alert and a good night's rest is vital for us. What I do now is put my texts on silent and set my alarm before I get ready for bed. I won't look at it until the next morning and yes! I actually do feel more rested.   When we're tired or have low energy it usually has an effect on how we treat the ones that are closest to us. (our spouse for example) It triggers tension.  But what's interesting - when guys don't get adequate sleep it doesn...

Request

Hello, Sorry for the inconvenience. I need to get an eBay gift card for my nephew, it's his birthday but I can't do this now because I'm seriously ill and my doctor said I should stay indoors for some reason. I have tried to purchase it online but unfortunately no luck with that, can you get it from any local store around you or at the grocery store or help me order online? I'll reimburse you as soon as possible. Let me know if you can handle this. Shelly Lipanovich
